It is important to tell you that poker is a money game and if you want to get into the big leagues, you will not have to “play to play” but “play to win”.

Basics of the Poker Texas hold’em

A poker Texas hold’em hand is always 5 cards. The strongest combination wins the pot. In Poker Texas Hold’em you have to compose the best possible hand using your two cards and the five community cards.

Your two cards are hidden and so are known only by you.

With online casino or land based poker table, the position of the one giving the cards is represented by a white puck (Dealer) which materializes the dealer among the players. It’s called the button. It turns clockwise after each shot.

The player seated in place of the button is in the place of the dealer and must play last. Both players to the left of the dealer must bet first. Before receiving their cards, players must place the required bets. The first player to the left of the dealer places the small blind and the second the big blind. The small blind is usually half the big blind. After the placement of blinds, the dealer distributes the cards.

This player has the following possibilities: this player can make a Call, which means wagering the same amount as the big blind. He can make a Raise the amount of his choice (No Limit). Or he can do Fold. The player throws his cards and gets out of the way.

Then, The Poker Texas hold’em players have the following possibilities: follow the previous bet, raise or re-raise if there is already a raise or pass their hand without losing anything. The floor returns to the small blind and the last player to speak in the first round of betting is the big blind that has the opportunity to raise.

After the first round of betting, players of Poker Texas hold’em place all chips in the center of the table and the dealer opens the Flop. The Flop is the first three cards in the center of the table. With your two hidden cards, you must make the best combination possible using or not the new cards usable by all. If the Flop is unfavorable, you have a lot of chances to lose the shot and it would be better to throw his cards. On the other hand, if the Flop suits you, continue to attack the shot. Example: Be aggressive with a hand like Max Pair, Max Kicker, or Max Draw. Kicker is very important in Texas Hold’em.

The bets start with the player to the left of the dealer. Poker Texas hold’em players can bet or check (do not bet anything while staying in the game).

After the Flop, it’s now the Turn, the fourth card placed at the center of the table. Once players of Poker Texas hold’em have seen this fourth card, the third round of betting resumes. All players who still have cards get a chance to see the fifth final card called “the river”.

The fourth and final round of the auction begins. When the fourth round of betting is over, all remaining players must return their cards to determine the winner of the Poker Texas hold’em game. You win the pot if you have the best combination of five cards using two, one or no cards from your hand.

Poker Texas hold’em and cards

The Flop (the first three cards), the Turn (the fourth card), the River (fifth card) are revealed successively by the dealer in Poker Texas hold’em.
Each player can use these community cards to complete his hand, thus using three, four or five community cards.

Example: You have King of Clover and 10 of Clover in your hand. The donor discovers the community cards. 5 of Clover, 8 of Clover, 5 of Spades, Lady of Hearts, Valet of Clover. By using the three Flop Clovers and the two Clovers in your hand, you have a color. Second example: you with 5 of Hearts and Ace of Spades in the hand.

Moreover, the donor discovers the community cards. Ace of Diamonds, 10 of Clover, King of Hearts, Ace of Hearts, 10 of Spades. Using a card from your hand, the Ace and four cards of the Flop, two Aces and two Ten, you have a Full to Ace by the 10. Third rarer example: your two cards do not bring any improvement to the best combination of community cards. You have a pair of 5. The dealer discovers the cards. Valet, 8, 9, Lady, 10. The five community cards form a Suite. Your Pair of 5 is useless. Be careful, in most cases you have to rely on your two cards.

Now that you’ve assimilated the basic rules of Texas Hold’em, you can continue with how to play your hand before the flop, the different categories of hands, bluffing and reading the hands of your opponents.

In case of a tie between two Poker Texas hold’em combinations, they are separated using the card called “the Kicker“.

Example: Players 1 and 2 both have a pair of Checkers. Player 1 has as Kicker the Jack, Player 2, an Ace. Hence, since the Ace is more powerful than a Jack, the player wins the pot. In case the kicker can not decide the players, we share the pot.
